      • PABULAC and NOVAC studies: We test samples from an observational study in children and young adults with or without asymptomatic/symptomatic malaria for thalassemia (alpha- and beta-thal.) as well as plasma Erythroferrone (ERFE) levels. This shall lead to a better understanding of the iron metabolism, especially the ERFE-BMP-HEPCIDIN "axis" in this population.
